As a DSP, you will support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living as independently as possible. Your role will include assisting with daily living activities, promoting community involvement, and empowering those you support to achieve their goals.

Responsibilities:

• Providing person-centered support and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Engaging clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and personal development.
• Maintaining a clean and safe living environment through regular cleaning and organization tasks.
• Transporting clients to medical appointments, community engagement activities, etc.
• Utilizing appropriate techniques for patient observation, including monitoring behavior and reporting any changes to the supervisor.
• Assisting clients with mobility needs, including the use of wheelchair when necessary.
• Providing companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall experience for individuals.
• Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Skills
Ideal candidates will possess:

• High school diploma or GED, CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check is a must.
• Possess a valid driver's license.
• CNA / PCA / HHA / DSP certification is a plus.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism and dementia care is desired.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality of client information.
• A caring, patient, and responsible attitude is essential.
