FUNBOX Bowie is seeking a high-energy, hands-on General Manager to lead our Family Entertainment Center. This role is responsible for owning day-to-day operations, leading and developing the team, and delivering an exceptional guest experience. FunBox is a national franchised chain of indoor & outdoor amsuement parks hosting over 3 million families per year.

Compensation: $70,000-82,500 salary (DOE) + annual performance bonus

Schedule: hours/week, weekends + school holidays required

Benefits: PTO + growth path as we open additional locations

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, a hospitality or food service management background, and thrives in fast-paced, guest-facing environments. This is not a desk job - the General Manager is actively on the floor, coaching the team, engaging with guests, and setting the tone for fun, safety, and excellence.

At FUNBOX, our purpose is to create the most entertaining, memorable, and fun experience for kids and families. We are looking for a General Manager that will be the source of energy for the park and set the right tone for the team.

What Success Looks Like

  • Hands-on, active, on the floor: communicating/interacting with guests and coaching the team in real-time
  • Team Leadership: interview, hire, train, motivate staff; manage scheduling, labor costs, and timesheets
  • Guest Experience: resolve issues quickly, professionally, with follow-up
  • Sales & Growth: work with Party Coordinator on bookings and guest experience
  • Maintenance: cleanliness, safety, equipment readiness, inventory management
  • Costs: track and manage labor and controllable costs

Responsibilities

  • Own daily operations: guest experience, cleanliness, safety, team leadership
  • Recruit, hire, train, and coach a staff of 30+ (many are high school students)
  • Build schedules, approve timesheets, and manage labor costs
  • Work with Party Coordinator and provide support for birthday parties
  • Maintain equipment readiness: inflatable, blowers, arcade, cleaning equipment
  • Manage inventory and ordering (supplies, prize room, vending machines)
  • Manage our ticketing & booking platform for bookings, refunds, & party management
  • Manage guest communication across phone, email, Google, and Roller, including follow-ups on negative experiences
  • Answer phone calls/emails for customer questions and booking birthday parties

What We Require

  • 2 years of management experience in hospitality/retail/FEC (restaurant, hotel, theme park, etc.) + managing 20+ employees
  • . MUST be able to work weekends, evenings, and school holidays
  • Confident with hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
  • Strong customer service judgment: calm under pressure, solutions-first
  • Able to pass a background check
  • Physically able to be active throughout a large facility daily
  • Professional, energetic, self-motivated, able to motivate others, positive attitude
  • Willingness to learn anything and understanding it's for the common goal of creating an awesome guest experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sales experience (or strong willingness to learn) for selling birthday party packages
  • Experience managing controllable expenses and operating to a plan (labor, supplies, etc.)
