Under the general direction of the manager of the Zero Emissions Vehicles Acceleration (ZEVA) Branch, the incumbent serves as the highest-level resource specialist and serves as the unit manager giving direction and conducting oversight of multiple staff members. The Program and Project Supervisor performs complex technical work relating to public utilities along with a variety of supervisory, program evaluation, planning, policy analyses, and formulation activities including technical review and feedback to staff on written work products. The incumbent leads, supervises, and directs a multi-disciplinary team working on a variety of technical and analytical tasks related to their Unit's subject matter areas. The incumbent confers with and assists the Division, Executive, and Commissioner leadership on policies and objectives and coordinates the work of the section with other sections of the Division on a broad spectrum of subject areas within the unit's portfolio. In addition, the Supervisor represents and supports the Division and Commission in meetings, briefings, conferences, and workshops, engaging other agencies, the Legislature, companies, research organizations, communities, and other stakeholders. The incumbent participates in investigations and hearings and testifies as an expert witness in proceedings; and prepares correspondence and reports.

The incumbent will manage a team that is responsible for data management and analysis for all funded ZEV infrastructure by the Division, including program and meta data and charger utilization and reliability data. The incumbent will supervise a team building a centralized and standardized approach to data management and analysis for the first time in the Division. The unit must develop a software stack from scratch and operationalize data analysis that will be directly used by senior executive management, commissioners, the governor's office, and the public.

Working Conditions

The CEC supports a hybrid workplace model with office-based and remote-centered workers. Limited in-person attendance and occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance. This position is remote-centered, which means the incumbent works 50 percent or more of their time from an alternate work location.

Teleworking is only available for employees who reside in California. You must be located in California and provide your in-state address prior to your start date. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance. Occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division.
