The Senior Project Manager (SPM) leads BWCC's construction execution for the Massillon project—from preconstruction and permitting through construction, commissioning, and closeout—ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget performance while coordinating multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders

Project Leadership & Planning

Own the project execution plan, baseline schedule (Primavera/MS Project), cost control, cash flow, and change management from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover.

Lead stage-gate reviews, risk registers, and mitigation strategies (per PM best practices) to keep scope, cost, and schedule aligned.

Coordinate design-assist/constructability reviews with engineering to optimize methods and modularization.

Through personal example and leadership, maintains company reputation for outstanding client service and project quality 

Is the on-site Company representative with regard to craft issues and adherence to associated collective agreements 

Permitting, Compliance & Governance

Drive permitting (city, county, state), environmental compliance, and EHS alignment—including OSHA, confined space, hot work, lifting plans, and site logistics.

Ensure testing/inspection plans and documentation are executed and retained (ITPs, weld maps, NDE, pressure tests) consistent with contract requirements.

Safety & Quality

Champion BWCC's "Safety is our TOP priority" culture; conduct JHAs, daily toolbox talks, and safety audits; track leading/lagging indicators.

Implement QA/QC programs (submittal reviews, RFI management, NCRs, punchlists, turnover packages, O&M manuals).

Procurement & Contracts

10.   Work with Procurement to manage procurement strategy: bid packages, vendor selection, POs/subcontracts, expediting, logistics, and material control for pressure parts, piping, instruments, structural steel, and specialty equipment.

11.   Administer prime contract and subcontracts.

Field Execution & Coordination

12.   Direct daily field activities with site superintendent(s); sequence workfaces; resolve constraints; maintain 3‑week look‑aheads and pull planning as needed.

13.   Coordinate multi‑discipline construction (civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, I&C) and tie-ins to utilities consistent with the BrightLoop process.

14.   Establish and lead site project team upon award of contract. 

Stakeholder Management & Communication

15.   Chair OAC (Owner–Architect–Contractor) meetings; issue weekly status reports, KPIs, and executive dashboards.

16.   Engage with local officials, utilities, and management to maintain schedule certainty and community relations.

17.   In response to RFQ's works with estimating group to complete project costing, pricing and submittal of proposal to customers. 

18.   Communicates project status to management 

Commissioning & Turnover

  19. Oversee pre‑commissioning/commissioning planning (systemization, MC/SC packages, SAT/FAT coordination), performance tests, and final turnover to operations

Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related field, or a minimum of 7+ years of experience as an on-site Project Manager

Demonstrable knowledge of commercial construction trades and proven experience in both project management and estimating disciplines

Managed the successful delivery of multiple, multi-year projects with $3M+ budgets, 1-2 year project timelines, and many stake holders

Experience in  managing large projects involving engineering, procurement, and construction 

Familiarity with Primavera scheduling tools 

6.     Ability to work as a team member on projects with an aptitude for problem solving  

7.     Organized and detail oriented  

8.     Able to manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities  

9.     Positive presence and effective communication skills, both written and verbal 

10.  Ability to work independently, self-starter, and motivator 

11.  Speak, read, and write English, and French would be an asset 

12.  Familiarity with boilers and steam generating equipment 

13.  Must have and maintain a valid driver's license 

14.  Must be able to work according to our customers schedules which may include weekends / after hours. 

15.  Must be able to wear proper PPE for the job 

16.  Experience with, or a willingness to learn, equipment operations 

17.  Familiarity with ASME, NFPA and related codes, welding procedures 

18.  Ability to read, write, and understand contract language, contract drawings, and contract specifications
