Department: Marketing and Communications
Reports to: Lead Video Producer / Creative Director (as assigned)
Status: Full-time

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Multimedia Content Assistant supports the Marketing and Communications team by helping produce, edit, and manage engaging multimedia content, with a primary emphasis on video. This role is designed for a flexible, hands-on content generalist who supports video production while also assisting with social media video, basic design needs, and occasional web or digital content updates.

This position plays an important role in strengthening content output, supporting campus storytelling, and increasing organic reach across digital platforms, while providing critical support to the video and creative teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Video Production & Editing (Primary Focus)

  • Assist with filming, editing, and producing short- and long-form video content for marketing, social media, and digital platforms
  • Support campus video needs including events, interviews, program highlights, student stories, and promotional content
  • Help manage video assets, footage organization, and basic production workflows
  • Assist the Lead Video Producer with projects from planning through post-production

Social Media & Digital Content Support

  • Create and edit short-form video content for social platforms (Reels, Shorts, etc.)
  • Assist with content repurposing across platforms to maximize reach and engagement
  • Support social and digital campaigns as assigned

Design & Web Support (As Needed)

  • Provide light design assistance for web and digital content when needed
  • Assist with minor website updates or content edits in collaboration with the marketing team
  • Support digital content initiatives and special projects as assigned

Team & Workflow Support

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications team members to meet deadlines and project needs
  • Support a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a willingness to jump in where help is needed
  • Assist with routine tasks that help keep projects moving efficiently
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including sound problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to stay organized while managing multiple projects, competing priorities, and tight deadlines
  • Habits of self-starting, taking initiative, and following tasks through to completion
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
  • Experience with video production and editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar)
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar)
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital content trends
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in video production, communications, media, marketing, design, or a related field preferred
AVAILABILITY & WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Some evening and weekend hours may be required as needed to support events, filming, or special projects
