We have an exciting opportunity for a Shipping Clerk in Madison, Wisconsin. As a key member of our logistics department, you will ensure the efficient and accurate processing of all outbound shipments. This involves meticulous preparation of documentation, coordination with transportation partners, and meticulous verification of order details. Your role is critical in upholding our commitment to on-time deliveries and customer satisfaction. You will be working in a dynamic warehouse environment where teamwork and precision are highly valued.
Responsibilities:
- Generate and manage all shipping documentation, including labels and manifests.
- Confirm order accuracy by comparing contents with shipping orders.
- Liaise with freight carriers to arrange pickups and track deliveries.
- Inspect packages for damage, ensuring quality packaging standards are met.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide shipment updates.
- Maintain comprehensive and orderly shipping records.
- Assist with the staging and loading of shipments when necessary.
- Ensure adherence to all shipping regulations and company protocols.
- Follow all Safety policies and use designated PPE.
- Operate relevant warehouse equipment and office machinery.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping, receiving, or logistics support role is highly desirable.
- Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Understanding of shipping carrier operations and documentation.
- Awareness of warehouse Safety practices.
- Capability to handle occasional Lifting of up to 30 lbs.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Experience with WMS or ERP systems is beneficial.
