Job DescriptionThe Senior Financial Controls & Compliance Analyst plays a strategic role in strengthening the organization's financial governance and operational integrity. This key position focuses on stabilizing core finance and business processes, designing and implementing robust internal control frameworks, and delivering high-impact compliance and risk management solutions. Working closely with Finance leadership and Operations teams, the role translates business risks into actionable controls, promotes a culture of accountability and transparency, and ensures the performance, reliability, and sustainability of financial processes.
What you are responsible for:
- Assess and stabilize finance and business processes with adequate documentation
- Identify control gaps and fraud and operational risk exposure
- Perform hands-on reviews across cash management, AP/AR, payroll, and inventory accounting
- Rebuild and improve critical reconciliations (bank, inventory, clearing accounts)
- Evaluate transaction workflows for segregation of duties weaknesses and override risk
- Establish and maintain a financial controls matrix
- Document core processes and develop key finance and operational policies
- Provide risk analysis and recommendations to Management
- Escalate significant control issues to the VP Finance
- Partner with finance and operations teams to implement improvements
To join our team:
- 5+ years of experience in financial controls, internal audit, controllership, or compliance
- Strong knowledge of cash controls, AP/AR, payroll, and inventory accounting
- Industrial, manufacturing, metals, or recycling experience preferred
- High integrity, strong judgment, and excellent communication skills
- The position requires 30% international travel
