Job Summary:
This is an exceptional career opportunity for the right person. Polar Star Properties is looking for a Full-time Leasing Agent to work with a strong, fun team for a large, multi-property management office. The right candidate should be a professional with a can-do attitude, an outgoing personality, possess strong interpersonal communication and maintain a positive attitude at all times. Qualified candidates should be detail oriented, organized and have strong analytical and computer skills.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Performing residential and leasing activities according to company policies to achieve occupancy goals and increased resident satisfaction
- Answering incoming calls and emails, scheduling appointments, completing prospect and resident follow ups
- Screening prospective tenants according to eligibility criteria
- Ability to read, comprehend, explain and complete legal documents to ensure a smooth resident move-in and lease signing
- Collecting and entering payments, security deposits, and other fees
- Maintaining applicant and resident accounts
- Use the on-site property management software to track apartment availability, traffic, leasing activities, and prospect data
- Utilize and establish creative marketing and social media strategies to increase property traffic
- Show available apartment homes, clubhouse and other amenities to prospects
- Taking resident service requests and coordinating with property operations and maintenance teams
- Ensure that all vacant apartment homes, community areas, including the club house and leasing office are in perfect condition
- Having a strong understanding of property management concepts and issues
- Willing to complete required training classes (Fair Housing, LIHTC etc.)
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Fluent in English (speak, read and write)
- Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Clean driver's record, background screening
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree
- Previous rental and property management experience a plus
- Bilingual in Spanish
- On-the-job training offered.
- A valid driver's license is strongly preferred for tasks that require driving company vehicles.
