The network administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing Camino Real's IT infrastructure. Responsibilities also include the following:
Install, configure, and maintain servers (Windows/Linux) and network devices (switches, routers, firewalls).
Monitor system and network performance, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in Active Directory and other platforms.
Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
Implement and maintain network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
Configure and monitor LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
Maintain documentation of system configurations, network diagrams, and procedures.
Provide end-user support and training when necessary.
JOB VACANCY NOTICE-POSTING REQUEST:
As a trauma-informed Center, all staff are required to attend trauma-informed care training. Travel is required within the service area with some weekend responsibilities on an on-call basis.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications to be eligible for the position:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
At least 3 years of experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role with a good working knowledge of business networking including routers, switches, and firewalls as well as firewall management and network security best practices.
Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, CCNA, MCSA, or VMware.
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud).
Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation.
Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, etc.).
Must possess a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants who possess one or more of the following qualifications in addition to the minimum qualifications are preferred:
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Network Security, Health Informatics and Business Information Technology.
Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, CCNA, MCSA, or VMware.
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud).
Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation.
Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, etc.).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Skill in communicating with users having differing levels of experience with information technology.
Excellent communication and people skills.
Has the ability to assess advanced technology available and guide executive management in the functionality of such technology and its implementation.
Demonstrate ability to read, write, and speak English.
Ability to work under conditions requiring physical stamina and ability to work in stressful environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must have the ability to organize tasks.
Skill in the use and support of personal computers; in the use of applicable programs and systems; and in troubleshooting information systems.
Ability to operate information technology systems; to troubleshoot and repair equipment; to communicate effectively; to train others; and to supervise the work of others.
