Description of Duties and Responsibilities

This in person role supports WYLD's evaluation and reporting work across programs like the Teen Action Council, Sweet Dreams of Wilkes, Lead Appalachia, and The Change Wagon. The analyst will design and implement an evaluation plan that helps us measure the impact of our youth led programs in Wilkes County. Core responsibilities include creating data collection tools, gathering and organizing program and surveillance data, and working with schools, health agencies, law enforcement, and other partners to access needed information.

The analyst will interview WYLD staff and youth leaders to add context to the numbers, complete data entry, run quantitative analyses, and prepare written reports that communicate findings in a clear way. This position will also assist with grant writing and reporting by contributing data, evaluation summaries, and narrative sections tied to outcomes and performance measures. The analyst will help prepare and submit performance reports, dashboard updates, and any other documentation required by funders and grantors.

Qualifications for Position

A master's degree in public health, public administration, data analytics, or a related field is preferred, but candidates with strong relevant experience will be considered. Applicants should have experience with program evaluation and quantitative analysis, along with basic data management and descriptive statistics. The ability to turn data into actionable insights that support WYLD's mission is essential.

Supervisory Relationships

This position does not supervise others and reports directly to the Executive Director and Programs Director.

Skills and Knowledge Required

  • Ability to design analysis plans and build data collection tools that align with WYLD's goals
  • Ability to analyze data from multiple sources and develop clear, meaningful reports
  • Ability to make independent decisions that keep grant funded projects on track
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adjust to shifting priorities
  • Understanding of state and federal grant requirements related to reporting and evaluation
  • Strong writing skills for program reports, grant sections, and funder documentation
  • Ability to manage several projects at once
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic data software
  • Knowledge of community, human services, and public health systems that support youth and families

Amount of Travel and Other Requirements

  • Local and occasional out of area travel
  • Criminal background check required
  • Valid NC driver's license and clean driving record
  • Agreement to WYLD's drug free and tobacco free workplace policy

Benefits

This full benefit position includes 100 percent employer covered health, vision, and dental insurance, along with a Simple IRA retirement plan once eligibility is met.

Pay: $41, $45,760.00 per year
