YOUR IMPACT
The Sr. IT Program Manager is a senior leader responsible for driving the successful delivery of complex, interrelated IT projects and programs that support the organization's strategic objectives. This role is designed to realize medium to long-term benefits, transforming the organization and the way it does business. The Sr. IT Program Manager works closely with stakeholders to translate Portfolio Critical Success Factors into defined, measurable benefits, ensuring alignment with business needs and strategic initiatives.
WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS Strategic Program Leadership- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive IT program plans, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and value realization.
- Deliver medium to long-term benefits by managing programs that respond to evolving business needs and drive organizational transformation.
- Work with stakeholders and sponsors to prioritize critical success factors, define program mandates, and structure work packages for optimal impact.
- Develop and maintain a Benefits Breakdown Structure (BBS), defining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that are verifiable, measurable, and quantitative.
- Generate and manage a Benefits Register, tracking benefits delivery and closure processes.
- Measure expected benefits using criteria that are measurable, feasible, relevant, accurate, sensitive, and timely.
- Prepare lessons learned reports based on benefit realization, strategic alignment, resource utilization, process efficiency, and transition effectiveness.
- Leverage reporting roadmaps, Kanban boards, and other tracking tools to monitor program progress and benefits realization.
- Provide regular program updates and executive summaries to senior leadership, highlighting KPIs, program health, and stakeholder engagement.
- Manage program completion, addressing outstanding issues and residuals, and finalize lessons learned at component and program closure.
- Serve as the primary liaison between IT, business units, and other internal/external partners.
- Manage communications, both passive (making information available) and active (direct engagement), to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Guide project teams through program phases, ensuring effective transition and integration of program outcomes.
- Act as a mentor and coach for project managers, supporting career development in program management.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation within the IT program management community.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Project Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and experience considered.
- 8+ years of progressive program/project management experience, preferably in IT transformation, strategic initiatives, or enterprise programs.
- Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional IT programs with multiple stakeholders.
- Advanced organizational, analytical, and leadership skills; ability to manage multiple programs, deadlines, and shifting priorities.
- Strong understanding of benefits management, program reporting, and strategic alignment.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PgMP, or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), program management software, and reporting tools.
- Ability to work independently and travel between sites as required.
- Interest in AI learning, exploring and applying AI to program management for improving delivery KPIs, meeting benefits expectations, and better tracking program outcomes.
- Hybrid work model: 3 days per week onsite at one of our OpenText facilities (Mississauga, Waterloo, or Richmond Hill).
- Occasional travel to regional offices or project sites as needed.

As you move through the hiring process, we're happy to provide more details about our compensation programs, including variable and commission compensation opportunities for eligible roles, vacation entitlement, and paid time off.
Salary Range: $135,000 - $150,000; Depending on the candidate's education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
