Roving Chaplain

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Provide spiritual care for all individuals associated with the organizations to which the chaplain is assigned, with the main focus being on relationships, not programming. Main role is relational ministry with all individuals – befriending, visiting, encouraging, counseling and praying with them.
Build relationships with residents, clients, and program participants, support and encouragement for staff/employees and their families, hospital and rehab facility visits as needed, and supportive contacts in times of crisis, special need, or emergency.

Provide variety of pastoral care services as needed – including, but not limited to, bereavement/grief support and resources, funerals/memorial services, officiate weddings, staff meeting devotions, prayer services, communion services, Christmas services, etc.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree or like work experience.
SKILLS: Pastoral heart and desire to serve others. Strong one-on-one relational abilities.
PHYSICAL/SPECIAL DEMANDS:
1. Prepare and assess reports.
2. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 2 hours at a time.
3. Must lift or move up to 50 lbs. or more with assistance, occasionally; 25 lbs., frequently; 10 lbs., constantly.
4. Must be able to position self to reach floor level to six feet from the floor.
5. Will be able to move throughout each facility.
6. Communicate effectively with customers and employees.
