Deli Assistant Manager

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Deli Assistant Manager to join our team. As a Deli Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving deli items, and maintaining a clean and organized deli area., and assisting the Deli Manager in department operations. Duties:
- Prepare and serve a variety of deli items such as sandwiches, salads, and soups
- Ensure food quality and freshness by monitoring inventory and rotating products
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the deli area
- Assist customers with their deli orders, providing recommendations and answering any questions they may have
- Operate the POS system to process customer orders accurately
- Handle cash transactions and provide correct change to customers
- Follow all food safety guidelines and regulations
- Assist with inventory control by monitoring stock levels and placing orders as needed
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food service or deli operations is preferred

• Prior deli/kitchen management experience preferred
• Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to provide friendly and helpful assistance to customers
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Basic math skills for cash handling purposes

• Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred Skills:
- Experience with POS system or similar point-of-sale software
- Knowledge of kitchen management principles
- Ability to cook or prepare basic deli items
- Experience in banquet or event catering
- Supervisory experience in a food service setting
