POSITION OVERVIEW

NY Enrichment Group is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and hands-on STEM Instructor to teach engaging science, technology, engineering, and math activities to 6th–8th grade students. The ideal candidate will be able to break down STEM concepts in a fun, interactive, and accessible way while encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Instructors should be comfortable leading experiments, demonstrations, and project-based learning activities that spark interest in STEM pathways.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead STEM lessons tailored to middle school learners, integrating science, technology, engineering, and math concepts.
  • Facilitate hands-on activities, experiments, and projects that promote exploration and real-world application.
  • Introduce students to scientific inquiry, engineering design processes, and basic data collection and analysis.
  • Encourage curiosity, teamwork, creativity, and independent problem-solving.
  • Prepare materials and classroom setup prior to each session; ensure clean-up and safe storage afterward.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment.
  • Communicate regularly with NYEG's Director of Operations regarding schedules, materials, and program updates.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience teaching or leading STEM activities with youth, or experience in a STEM-related field.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain concepts in an age-appropriate, engaging way.
  • Comfort with hands-on learning, experimentation, and classroom management.
  • Reliable, punctual, professional, and able to work independently.
