Seeking a reliable Order Picker for our busy New York City, New York distribution center. As an Order Picker, you will be instrumental in ensuring our customers receive their orders accurately and on time. Your role involves efficiently locating, retrieving, and staging products within the warehouse, contributing directly to the success of our logistics operations. This is a hands-on position requiring physical stamina and meticulous attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from designated warehouse locations using pick lists or RF scanners.
- Verify product numbers, descriptions, and quantities against order requirements.
- Safely operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or order pickers.
- Stage picked orders in the correct staging areas for packing and shipping.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Report any inventory discrepancies or damages to the supervisor promptly.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed, including stocking and replenishment.
- Follow all instructions for proper handling and lifting of goods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience as an order picker or in a similar warehouse role is advantageous.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and stand for long periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Willingness to wear required PPE and follow safety guidelines strictly.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
Requirements:
This position demands physical dexterity, including bending, reaching, and lifting. You must be comfortable working in a dynamic warehouse setting and committed to upholding the highest safety standards. Proper use of PPE is non-negotiable. Efficient order picking is key to our logistics success, and we rely on our pickers for accuracy and speed. Experience with lifting and moving various items is necessary. We foster a culture of safety and expect all employees to prioritize it in their daily tasks.
