We are seeking a diligent and motivated Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse. Your primary duties will involve receiving, stocking, picking, and preparing materials for shipment. This position requires physical stamina and attention to detail to ensure accuracy and prevent damage to goods. You will work closely with other warehouse staff and supervisors to maintain optimal workflow and meet production targets. A strong commitment to safety protocols and proper equipment operation is essential. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic. Understanding of warehouse operations and prior experience with material handling equipment is a plus, but not required as comprehensive training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming materials and verify against purchase orders.
- Stock materials in designated warehouse locations, ensuring proper rotation and accessibility.
- Pick orders accurately based on pick lists or system-generated requests.
- Package materials securely for shipment, ensuring all items are accounted for.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies, in a safe and proficient manner.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any defects.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, which is critical for efficient logistics and safety.
- Participate in inventory counts and stock checks as required.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental goals and deadlines.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of warehouse operations and safety procedures. Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 50 pounds consistently is required. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods. Familiarity with safety guidelines and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory. Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions are also necessary. Prior experience in a logistics or warehouse setting is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent is required.
