Our Columbus, Ohio location seeks an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain the accuracy of our warehouse stock. This critical role ensures that inventory records precisely match physical stock levels, which is vital for efficient logistics and preventing stockouts or overstocking. You will be responsible for implementing and overseeing inventory management procedures, conducting cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and analyzing inventory data. The ideal candidate has a sharp analytical mind, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong understanding of warehouse operations and safety protocols. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventories, identifying and investigating discrepancies.
- Reconcile inventory records with actual stock levels in the WMS (Warehouse Management System).
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement.
- Oversee the receiving and put-away process to ensure accurate inventory recording from the start.
- Manage stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) to minimize waste and obsolescence.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of warehouse storage areas.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
- Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to support smooth workflow and order fulfillment.
- Report on inventory accuracy metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar role.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret complex data and generate insightful reports.
- Experience with lifting and moving inventory may be required for stock checks.
- Understanding of logistics principles and supply chain operations.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and best practices.
