Our Houston, Texas location is seeking a reliable Material Handler to manage the flow of goods within our warehouse. This role is essential for maintaining an organized and efficient supply chain. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for receiving, storing, and dispatching materials. You will operate various types of material handling equipment and ensure that inventory is accurately tracked and managed. Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and unload materials.
- Store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper rotation and organization.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Pick and prepare materials for outgoing shipments according to dispatch orders.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and report discrepancies.
- Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of all warehouse areas, including aisles and docks.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE.
- Support loading and unloading operations.
- Assist with general warehouse maintenance and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift operator certification or the ability to obtain one.
- Proficiency in operating various warehouse machinery.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Basic knowledge of inventory control and logistics principles.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
