Lead Solution Architect – Data, Analytics & AI I’m supporting a large, complex financial enterprise environment that is scaling its Data Services capability and is now looking to hire an experienced Lead Solution Architect to drive enterprise-wide data, analytics, and AI initiatives. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll own solution design end-to-end while leading a team of architects and engineers.
The Role You’ll sit within a data function delivering large-scale platforms and services that underpin analytics, AI, reporting and digital journeys. The role spans modern cloud architectures, real-time data and AI-driven insights, with ownership across design, delivery and technical direction. You’ll lead a team of 4 direct reports, set architectural standards and work closely with senior stakeholders to translate strategy into scalable, secure solutions.
Key Areas of Focus Candidates with strong experience in
at least one
of the following areas will be considered:
Data Modernisation
Cloud-based data platforms and lakehouse architectures
Legacy-to-cloud migration and platform modernisation
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
Real-Time & Operational Data
Streaming and event-driven architectures
Kafka / Confluent and low-latency data platforms
API-led data services and digital reporting
Operational data stores and indexing
Cloud analytics platforms (AWS/Azure)
Databricks, SageMaker, BI tooling
AI/ML platforms in production environments
GenAI exposure or roadmap involvement is a strong plus
What They’re Looking For
Proven experience as a Lead / Senior Solution Architect
Demonstrable people leadership experience (this is essential)
Experience designing and owning solutions in large, regulated environments
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to balance strategic architecture with hands-on delivery
Important: candidates with strong technical skills but no prior team leadership experience will not be suitable for this role.
