About The Role
As Transportation Planner, you will oversee transportation service coordination, freight contract maintenance, and shipment analysis, ensuring structured execution across logistics operations and compliance tracking. You will examine daily orders, plan freight movement, assist in maintaining contracts, and ensure DOT compliance, refining workflow execution and structured transportation tracking methodologies. Additionally, you will prepare performance reports, support customer service teams, and manage ERP system proficiency, ensuring long-term operational sustainability and structured execution tracking.
What You'll Do
Carry out transportation processes for truckload, LTL, and parcel shipping, ensuring structured engagement execution accuracy.
Examine daily orders, routes, and freight expenses, strategizing efficient transportation methods and service levels.
Organize orders based on shipment details, securing carrier capacity and negotiating spot rates, refining structured logistics tracking methodologies.
Act as a bridge between Logistics and Customer Service teams, ensuring optimal shipment execution and customer satisfaction.
Assist in maintaining freight contracts, tariffs, rates, and charges, refining structured compliance execution tracking methodologies.
Maintain DOT files, ensuring federal and state record-keeping compliance.
Offer coverage for the department when team members are absent, optimizing structured workflow execution adaptability.
Prepare regular and special metric performance reports for management, refining structured data tracking methodologies.
Develop proficiency in JD Edwards Freight Routes/Rates ERP software, ensuring structured operational accuracy execution.
Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to structured logistics optimization and transportation execution success.
What We're Looking For
Required
High School Diploma/GED
3-5 years of experience in a transportation planning function utilizing a TMS system, refining structured logistics execution methodologies
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, optimizing structured reporting execution accuracy
Experience in preparing data analysis and software-generated reports, refining structured engagement execution methodologies
Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to change, ensuring structured operational workflow execution methodologies
Experience in fast-paced, high-volume environments, refining structured logistics tracking execution strategies
Proactive self-starter mindset, with keen attention to detail
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, enabling seamless collaboration across employees and leadership
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in related field, refining structured transportation execution methodologies
Knowledge of JDE, WMS, and ERP software or similar applications, optimizing structured logistics tracking methodologies
Less than 10% of travel is required.
