We do not treat owner-operators as spot-market fillers. We operate a carrier-first ecosystem built on freight consistency, financial transparency, and real human support — including dedicated dispatchers assigned specifically to owner-operator operations.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Driver & Owner-Operator Recruiter with a proven history of recruiting high-quality owner-operators and company drivers.

This role is execution-focused and requires a strong understanding of:

  • Owner-operator pay and settlement structures
  • Compliance and onboarding accuracy
  • Clear expectation-setting during recruitment
  • End-to-end recruiting and onboarding coordination

You will be responsible for ensuring that owner-operators fully understand how GH operates, how they are paid, and how their operation is supported before they ever activate under our authority.

Owner-Operator Recruitment (Primary Focus)

  • Recruit qualified solo and team owner-operators through Indeed, referrals, and inbound leads.
  • Clearly communicate GH's owner-operator program, including:
  • Power-only and round-trip freight options
  • Weekly settlement structure
  • Insurance, permits, and deductions
  • Optional fuel card and trailer programs
  • Screen owner-operators for:
  • Experience level and operational maturity
  • Equipment compliance and authority readiness
  • Long-term fit with structured, non-chaotic freight
  • Ensure candidates understand that dedicated dispatchers and carrier support staff are assigned to owner-operator operations to ensure consistency, planning, and issue resolution.

Company Driver Recruitment (Secondary Focus)

  • Recruit company drivers and team drivers based on operational demand.
  • Conduct phone screenings, follow-ups, and qualification checks.
  • Coordinate recruiting priorities with operations and dispatch leadership.

Onboarding, Compliance & Process Control

  • Coordinate owner-operator and driver onboarding from first contact to active dispatch.
  • Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant prior to activation, including:
  • Lease agreements and acknowledgments
  • Insurance and equipment documentation
  • Drug & alcohol clearinghouse and safety requirements
  • Partner with Admin Ops to ensure all files are entered correctly in Paycom and internal systems.
  • Reduce onboarding delays by proactively identifying and resolving missing or incorrect documentation.

Process Discipline & Communication

  • Maintain accurate recruiting and onboarding status tracking.
  • Follow up consistently with candidates to prevent drop-off.
  • Communicate daily or near-daily with operations to align recruiting with real fleet needs.
  • Provide leadership with regular updates on recruiting pipeline, bottlenecks, and activations.

Required Experience

  • 2+ years of direct owner-operator recruiting experience in trucking or logistics.
  • Strong understanding of owner-operator pay models, settlements, and expectations.
  • Experience recruiting into structured carrier programs, not spot-only operations.
  • Familiarity with onboarding and HR systems such as Paycom (or similar).
  • Strong phone presence and ability to explain complex pay and compliance topics clearly.
  • High attention to detail and process discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience recruiting both company drivers and owner-operators.
  • Familiarity with FMCSA compliance requirements for leased-on owner-operators.
  • Experience working closely with dispatch and operations teams.
  • Transportation or fleet operations background.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $64, $68,590.00 per year
