Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will excel in guest relations, communication, and providing exceptional customer service. This role is essential in ensuring a positive first impression and smooth flow of operations within our restaurant or hospitality establishment. Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or guest services is highly valued. The Host will be responsible for managing reservations, greeting guests, and coordinating seating arrangements to enhance the overall guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements
• Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as Toast and Opentable
• Provide accurate wait times and answer guest inquiries with professionalism and courtesy
• Maintain a clean and organized host stand area
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen staff and servers to ensure seamless service flow
• Handle phone inquiries with proper phone etiquette and provide information about the restaurant or hotel services
• Assist in maintaining guest satisfaction by addressing concerns promptly and courteously
• Support other front-of-house duties as needed to ensure a positive guest experience

Qualifications

• Previous Host/host experience preferred, especially within food service or hospitality environments
• Strong communication skills with excellent phone etiquette and guest relations abilities
• Experience with POS systems such as Toast
• Knowledge of restaurant operations, guest services, and serving procedures is desirable
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and friendliness
• Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on creating a welcoming atmosphere
• Basic knowledge of hospitality standards and hotel experience is advantageous
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed
