Medical Assistant – Nephrology & Internal Medicine

Location: Sacramento, CA
Position Type: Full-Time (32 hrs)

About Our Practice

We are a well‑established Nephrology and Internal Medicine private practice in Sacramento dedicated to delivering compassionate, high‑quality care to a diverse patient population, including individuals with chronic kidney disease, dialysis needs, and transplant coordination. We are seeking a reliable, experienced Medical Assistant who values teamwork, professionalism, and patient-centered service. Patient load averages 12–15 per day, ensuring adequate time for both clinical care and administrative work.

Schedule

• Monday through Thursday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• 1-hour lunch break

Minimum Requirements (Non‑Negotiable)

• 2+ years of experience as an outpatient Medical Assistant (REQUIRED)
• 1-2 years of experience using EPIC EMR (front and back office) (REQUIRED)
• Bilingual in Spanish (Preferred but not required)

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage patient check‑in/check‑out, rooming, vitals, and exam‑room readiness.
• Support daily clinical workflows for nephrology and internal medicine
• Schedule appointments; verify insurance eligibility & Authorizations.
• Triage and process all incoming and outgoing referrals.
• Handle phone calls, messages, emails & faxes related to patient care.
• Coordinate dialysis and transplant care, including communication with dialysis centers and transplant programs.
• Ensure timely follow‑up on labs, referrals, and treatment plans.
• Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC software
• General daily maintenance & cleaning of the clinic.
