The Proposal and Business Development Assistant's primary role is to support the Proposal Manager in responding to Requests for Information (RFI), Sources Sought Notifications (SSN); performing Market Research; and maintaining a SharePoint Database library of Proposal content. We are ideally looking for a recent college graduate with a degree in business, arts, political Science/Government (preferred) or communications. Ideal candidate has great communications skills, good writing skills, organization skills and Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint) experience.
1. Planning and Research
• Visit various government websites (APFS, eBuy, Beta.SAM, etc.) to watch for opportunities of interest.
• Use TMMG Business development processes and procedures and search vehicle for new work
• Track planned opportunity pipeline for Requests for Information (RFI), Sources Sought Notifications (SSN), Requests for Proposals (RFP) and amendment releases.
• Establish, populate, and maintain SharePoint folders to support pipeline tracking.
2. Execution
• Provide tracking support for team communications, documentation, and other materials.
• Establish, populate, and maintain SharePoint folders to support proposal efforts.
• Route contract documents to appropriate filing locations and proposal team members.
• Assist with analysis of government documents
• Support the Proposal Manager and Proposal Team with developing/maintaining proposal plan, schedule, outline, compliance matrix, action item list, and associated deadlines.
• Collaborate with Proposal Manager and technical experts to brainstorm strategy and approach and ensure decisions are captured in proposal outlines, templates, and other documentation.
• Consult with Project/Program Managers to assess contract performance and determine ways to quantitatively present metrics and performance data in Past Performance reviews.
• Research assigned topics and prepare special reports and findings.
• Research assigned topics to aid in refining proposal strategies and technical responses and present findings to Proposal Manager
• Refine TMMG processes as directed by COO
• Assist with creating and editing original text, tailoring boilerplate narratives, and rewriting third-party contributions to fulfill RFP requirements, with the goal of creating content that is compliant with requirements, consistently presents win strategy, and is compelling to the reader.
• Utilize AI to perform detailed compliance analysis between RFP requirements and proposal narratives written by other authors and provide feedback to ensure a compliant final product.
• Edit written contents for grammar, spelling, factual accuracy, and clarity.
• Assist with comparison between RFPs and amendments and provide analysis (may be verbal or written) of impacts.
• Assist with updating proposal documentation with revised requirements and strategy as necessary.
3. Closing
• Lessons learned and development of follow-on actions
• Analyze won/lost debriefs from the government/client and add to appropriate opportunity within the PMM.
4. Ongoing
• Support preparing/editing/formatting proposal templates, historical past performance narratives, and frequently used proposal and marketing documents.
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree.
• Experience developing and writing formal persuasive arguments; experience may be obtained during academic program.
• Must pass background check.
Skills
• Obsessively organized and detailed oriented; exceptional time-management skills (takes the word "deadline" literally).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; editing skills; knowledge of grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation in the English language; there will be several skills assessments for this.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and intermediate proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; these proficiencies will be skills tested.
• Proficient with the use of common office machinery, such as computers and printers.
• Thrive under pressure and excel at meeting tight, multiple, and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
