Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to join our innovative production team. In this role, you will drive manufacturing excellence by working directly with the design engineer/s, refining the prototype on new offerings, driving quality and consistency of the manufacturing processes, and ensuring work is performed to our quality standards. Your expertise will ensure efficient production workflows and continuous improvement across our manufacturing facility. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical engineering skills and manufacturing knowledge to large recycling equipment projects that impact product quality and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and refine manufacturing processes for various products, ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Knowledgeable and conversant on CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Creo to design tooling, fixtures, and process layouts that enhance production efficiency.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on production issues to identify underlying problems and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with design engineering teams to optimize welding, fabrication, and assembly operations using lean manufacturing principles.
  • Communicates frequently with design engineering to ensure on the shop floor product amendments are captured on the schematics and technical drawings.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing factory data, reducing waste, improving cycle times, and enhancing overall productivity through process engineering techniques.
  • Works with the Shop Leader to recruit, coach, and develop all manufacturing personnel.
  • As part of this shop personnel development process offer timely performance assessment per company timetables and guidelines.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field. NOTE: this is not mandatory but preferred. Experience, drive, and capabilities loom more important to us than educational achievements.
  • Proven experience and tenure working in a manufacturing facility with hands-on knowledge of assembly lines, welding procedures, fabrication tools, and industrial equipment. Minimum 10 years is preferred here.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in reading CAD (SolidWorks, Creo) drawings and schematics drawings.
  • This role is the translator between design engineering and the shop floor. The successful candidate can understand the design intentions and project it in simple doable terms to the line technician.
  • Experience with process engineering techniques such as lean manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies (Kaizen), and factory optimization strategies.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards for quality management systems is desirable.
  • Project Management skills are important to the success of this role. One must be comfortable multitasking 3-5 projects at the same time. If you only think one at time and in a straight line this is not the job for you.
  • Ability to see the machine from the users prospective is an admirable trait. Understand the users real world perspective needs to be conveyed from time to time to the design engineering function sitting in an air conditioned cubicle.
  • Knowledge and familiarity of common safety procedures and practices. Couple this knowledge with the ability to communicate and drive a safe working culture throughout our manufacturing envirnoment.

Pay: $100, $125,000.00 per year
