Pay & Benefits
Starting pay of $31.67 per trip for pay (TFP)* after passing initial training, as defined in the collective bargaining agreement; with opportunities for future increases per the applicable contractual wage scale based on time in position. Opportunities for additional pay such as applicable RIGS for specified flying per the collective bargaining agreement.

While completing an application, each Candidate will answer questions about qualifications. Please answer these questions carefully and accurately, as there is not a way to modify answers after an application is submitted, and applications that do not meet the job qualifications will be automatically removed from consideration.
Candidates chosen for in-person interviews will be offered an interview on select dates beginning as soon as January 2026, which will take place at our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX.
Candidates selected for the Flight Attendant position will complete a four-week Flight Attendant training class. Training start dates offered will tentatively be as soon as March 2026, proceeding into June.
Alternative interview or training class dates won't be offered . All interview and training dates will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis and in alignment with Southwest's business needs.

Responsibilities- Responsible for providing Legendary Customer Service to passengers desiring to travel by performing or assisting in the performance of all safety, passenger service, and cabin preparation duties
- Provides Customers with safety information to ensure onboard safety compliance with government and Company regulations
- Provides leadership, direction, and assistance during an emergency, including aircraft evacuation, administering first aid to ill or incapacitated Customers, and unusual incidents (bomb threats, hijackings, delayed flights, severe weather conditions, turbulent flights, etc.)
- Serve beverages and snacks to Customers, collecting appropriate payments for alcoholic beverages and accounting for such receipts.
- Working environment subject to varying climate conditions, air turbulence, changing locations, variable hours and working conditions, dry air, noise levels from engines and other ground equipment, dim lighting, confined spaces, and continuous and frequent contact with others
- Works under hazardous conditions handling emergencies
- Works in aircraft aisles and galleys, standing, reaching (extending in front of body and above head), walking, kneeling, and stooping for periods of long duration, and sitting for take off and landing
- Works independently without constant supervision and observation
- Work must be performed in accordance with established guidelines, procedures, and performance standards
- Reads and interprets service and emergency instructions and communicates information to Customers and Crew
- Operates mechanical equipment and safety equipment to include: stairs, oxygen systems, aircraft doors (pushing and pulling), evacuation slides, fire extinguishers, life rafts, galley equipment, communication equipment, and lighting systems
- Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
- Foreign language skills are preferred, but not required
- Must be able to read documents, follow instructions, learn and understand emergency and Company procedures, rules and regulations
- Must have the ability to comprehend and keep abreast of information pertinent to the job such as special promotions and new procedures
- Must successfully complete initial and recurrent training programs
- Must be aware of hazardous situations and be able to provide a leadership role in emergencies as needed
- Works under tight time constraints to assure service on flights of short duration and quick turnaround of flights and on-time departures
- Ability to work well with others as part of a team
- Excellent verbal communications and interpersonal skills
- Must have the ability to work well with the public on a constant basis handling demanding/difficult Customers
- Ability to work rotating shift work, and/or overtime and travel on a constant basis
- Must demonstrate SWA Culture on a daily basis
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- No experience required
- Required: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and not require Southwest Airlines to sponsor now or in the future
- Required: Must have a valid passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States without restriction
- Must meet all regulatory criteria to obtain and maintain a CREW badge designation; this position requires successful and continuous enrollment in Rap Back
- Must be able to lift and/or lower objects weighing up to 40 pounds, such as carry-on baggage, into/from overhead bins without assistance.
- Must be able to lift and/or lower and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds (such as emergency life rafts) with assistance.
- Must be able to reach above your head with arms fully extended to operate aircraft overhead bins and manipulate objects such as emergency equipment and luggage
- Must be able to bend down to the ground and assume a squatting position with knees touching the ground, in order to arm and disarm an aircraft door, to perform CPR/ First Aid, or other emergency tasks
- Must be able to perform an emergency water evacuation that requires you to jump into water with a life vest and climb into raft
- Must be able to lift, balance and carry a full drink tray while walking down an aisle, and walk and stand for significant periods of time
- Must be able to expeditiously move through the cabin aisle and exits in emergency and non-emergency situations
- Must be able to fit quickly through the overwing window exit, and fit into a jumpseat harness without modification, including closure without a seatbelt extension
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be able to comply with the Company attendance standards described in labor agreements and/or established guidelines
- Must be at least 20 years of age.
