ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Practices within the scope of the Arizona State Board of Nursing practices and maintains clinical competency, as demonstrated in providing and directing patient care.
• Adheres to industry standard of practice in the delivery of primary health care services.
• Coordinates assessment, treatment and management of children and adults through consultation with the supervising physician and other healthcare team providers to facilitate comprehensive patient care plans.
• Conducts labs, referrals and appropriate assessments of patients including history taking and physical examination consistent with scope of practice department protocol.
• Diagnoses or treats acute health care problems, illnesses, infections and injuries.
• Analyzes and interprets patients' histories, symptoms, physical findings or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
• Prescribes appropriate medications (dosage and route) utilizing the best practices and under the direction of the staff physician.
• Participates in performance measurement standards and tracking including, but not limited to, GPRA, UDS and ADHS requirements.
• Documents physical findings, formulates plan/prognosis based on patient's condition and follow-up with patient in an accurate, timely way.
• Detect and respond to adverse drug reactions, with special attention to vulnerable populations such as infants, children, pregnant and lactating women, and other adults.
• Coordinate care with ancillary providers, clinics, and hospitals.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT

Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution. Two (2) to four (4) years' experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner in a clinical setting. Experience in working with Native Americans is desirable. Must be current with required immunization per the NACA HR Policies and Procedures. This position is covered by Public Law , requiring contact or control over Indian children. Due to this requirement, the agency must ensure that persons hired for these positions have not been found guilty of or pleaded nolo contendere or guilty to certain crimes. Must be current with required immunization per the NACA HR Policies and Procedures and Infection Control Policy. BLS Certification and HIPAA Certification. Possess a valid state Driver's License. Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card. Must pass a criminal background check investigation in accordance with NACA Policy.

• Knowledge of disease prevention, health education, and treatment for acute and chronic health issues.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to develop treatment plans for acute and chronic diseases.
• Skills in educating and guiding patients on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle habits.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills related to interactions with coworkers, clients, and other professionals outside the FHC.

• High level of comfort with diverse populations, specifically Native American populations
