The Software Engineer Analyst is responsible for bridging business needs with technical execution. This role includes engaging directly with internal and external clients, gathering requirements, drafting Statements of Work (SOWs), and translating complex needs into actionable technical tasks for the software engineering team. The position also performs hands-on software development, assisting with basic programming tasks, system enhancements, and application support. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, customer-focused, and capable of balancing communication,
requirements analysis, and technical execution.
Key ResponsibilitiesClient & Stakeholder Interaction
- Act as a primary liaison between clients, business units, and the engineering team.
- Conduct discovery sessions to gather technical and functional requirements.
- Translate stakeholder feedback into documentation, workflows, and technical specifications.
- Communicate project timelines, updates, deliverables, and changes clearly.
Statements of Work (SOW) & Documentation
- Create detailed SOWs with scope, requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
- Collaborate with management to define resource needs and acceptance criteria.
- Maintain documentation including requirements, specs, diagrams, and release notes.
- Ensure documentation meets organizational and audit standards.
Software Engineering & Technical Tasks
- Perform basic programming tasks such as modules, scripts, and integrations.
- Assist senior developers with coding, debugging, and code reviews.
- Develop or modify SQL queries, stored procedures, and validations.
- Support system upgrades, enhancements, and bug fixes.
- Conduct unit and integration testing.
Systems & Data Analysis
- Analyze systems, workflows, and processes for improvement opportunities.
- Assess technical feasibility and recommend solutions for enhancements.
- Troubleshoot data issues, API integrations, and system dependencies.
Project Coordination & Support
- Support project managers with planning, scheduling, and resource coordination.
- Track project milestones, deliverables, and risks.
- Provide application support to end users, resolving functional and technical issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience writing SOWs or project documentation.
- Familiarity with ASP.NET, APIs, and integration work.
- Experience with SQL Server or database design.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Understanding of software architecture and QA fundamentals.
