Role Overview

The Finance Manager will be the company's first dedicated finance hire and will play a critical role in building the
financial foundation of a rapidly scaling CPG brand. This role blends hands-on ownership of core accounting and
month-end close with forward-looking financial planning, analysis, and strategic support.
In addition to ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting, the Finance Manager will partner closely with
leadership to translate financial data into insights that support growth, pricing, inventory management, and
operational decision-making. This role will also help design scalable processes, improve financial visibility, and
support the evolving needs of a fast-growing, vertically integrated business.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both the rigor of accounting and the impact of FP&A in a dynamic,
entrepreneurial environment, and who thrives in ambiguity while helping bring structure as the organization scales.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting, Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

  • Own and manage the full monthly accounting close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis
  • Ensure accounting practices are compliant with US GAAP and internal policies
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and management reporting packages
  • Maintain the general ledger and support accurate, timely financial reporting
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to review results and explain financial performanceInventory, COGS & Manufacturing Accounting
  • Manage inventory accounting and ensure accurate COGS reporting
  • Maintain inventory valuation, standard costing, and landed cost processes
  • Support accounting for logistics, fulfillment and production activities
  • Ensure integrity of inventory data across ERP and accounting systems

Audit, Tax & External Partners

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and accounting partners
  • Support financial statement audits, tax filings, and diligence requests
  • Assist with income tax, sales & use tax, and other compliance requirements
  • Help prepare Stars + Honey for more formal audits as the business scales
  • Internal Controls, Systems & Process Improvement
  • Develop, implement, and document accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Identify and drive process improvements to support scale, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Support the transition and implementation of a new ERP (NetSuite)
  • Help build finance infrastructure appropriate for a high-growth, inventory-heavy business

Cross-Functional & Strategic Support

  • Partner with leaders across Supply Chain, Growth, and Operations to provide financial insight
  • Proactively surface risks, trends, and opportunities based on financial results
  • Support special projects, system implementations, and strategic initiatives
  • Bring structure and clarity to ambiguous problems through sound judgment and execution

Qualifications

  • Strong technical foundation in US GAAP and month-end close processes
  • High fluency with accounting systems and ERP platform. NetSuite experience is a plus. Experience implementing a new ERP is a huge plus
  • Experience designing or improving accounting processes to support a scaled, efficient month-end close
  • Experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, or manufacturing/CPG environments is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, MBA or CPA strongly preferred, but not required
  • 5-8+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with experience in
  • High-growth or CPG environment and/or
  • Big 4 public accounting experience a plus
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership
  • A self-starting attitude with a love for executing on ideas and moving quickly
  • Confident and clear communicator with the ability to present financial information to stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguity, deeply understand business needs, develop a cohesive strategy and make decisions requiring a high level of judgment

6-Month Success Criteria

  • Successfully implement and integrate the company's new ERP (NetSuite), including clean data migration,

inventory and COGS workflows, and reliable financial reporting.

  • Complete 2025 tax filings and annual financial review in coordination with external advisors, ensuring

accurate, well-documented, and audit-ready financials.

  • Establish a scalable, repeatable month-end close process that accelerates close timelines while maintaining

accuracy and strong controls.

  • Build and maintain consistent KPI and management reporting to support leadership decision-making across growth, margins, inventory, and cash flow.
  • Improve accuracy and reliability of inventory, COGS, and margin reporting by aligning accounting

processes with manufacturing and supply chain operations.

  • Document and implement core accounting policies and internal controls to support audit readiness and future scale.
  • Establish a foundational forecasting and planning process that improves visibility into cash flow, working capital, and growth trade-offs.
  • Become a trusted cross-functional finance partner to Supply Chain, Operations, and Growth teams by proactively surfacing insights, risks, and opportunities

Pay: $110, $130,000.00 per year
