Position:

The primary focus of an After School STEM Enrichment Instructor - Methacton SD will be to teach Snapology programs at Methacton School District elementary schools at the end of the school day. After School STEM Enrichment Instructor - Methacton SD are asked to promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while educating students on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) concepts. This role requires internal collaboration and communication with Snapology leadership as well as representing the Snapology organization to parents & children with a high degree of professionalism.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Lead groups of up to 16 students through curriculum-guided activities
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
• Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in live training sessions
• Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs

Qualifications:

• State and Federal Criminal and Child Abuse Clearances must be current (within the past year) and cleared to work with children in PA.
• Mantoux TB test within the past year.
• Experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment
• Education degree or teaching experience recommended; College students pursuing a degree in education are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
• Ability to communicate effectively orally in English
• Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis

Programs:

• Weekday after-school classes; must be available to work between pm at least two days per week.
• Optional add-on: weekday in-school special events
• Optional add-on: weeknight classes and/or special events
• Optional add-on: School break workshops
• Optional add-on: weekend workshops and/or birthday parties
• Option to transition to Summer Camp Instructor at the end of the school year.

This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability, an After School STEM Enrichment Instructor - Methacton SD typically works between 4-8 hours per week.

Compensation: $ $24.00 per hour
