Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

Seeking a reliable and skilled General Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of our 75-room hotel, ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for guests and staff. Previous hotel or hospitality maintenance experience is preferred, but not required for candidates with strong general maintenance skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and exterior spaces
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, drywall, painting, carpentry, and flooring issues
• Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and work orders
• Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns
• Maintain swimming pool, laundry equipment, and kitchen equipment as applicable
• Assist with vendor coordination and oversee contracted repair work when needed
• Ensure compliance with brand standards, safety regulations, and local codes
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and inventory of supplies and tools
• Participate in emergency response situations (power outages, water leaks, etc.)

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous hotel or hospitality maintenance experience preferred
• General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and basic carpentry
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
• Excellent customer service skills with a guest-focused mindset
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods
• Flexible schedule, including occasional weekends or on-call availability
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in a branded hotel environment (Hilton/Hampton preferred)
• Pool certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Basic computer skills for work order systems
• Preventive maintenance program experience
