Job Summary
Seeking a reliable and skilled General Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of our 75-room hotel, ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for guests and staff. Previous hotel or hospitality maintenance experience is preferred, but not required for candidates with strong general maintenance skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and exterior spaces
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, drywall, painting, carpentry, and flooring issues
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and work orders
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns
- Maintain swimming pool, laundry equipment, and kitchen equipment as applicable
- Assist with vendor coordination and oversee contracted repair work when needed
- Ensure compliance with brand standards, safety regulations, and local codes
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and inventory of supplies and tools
- Participate in emergency response situations (power outages, water leaks, etc.)
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous hotel or hospitality maintenance experience preferred
- General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and basic carpentry
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
- Excellent customer service skills with a guest-focused mindset
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods
- Flexible schedule, including occasional weekends or on-call availability
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in a branded hotel environment (Hilton/Hampton preferred)
- Pool certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Basic computer skills for work order systems
- Preventive maintenance program experience
