À propos
We are seeking a skilled
Performance Engineer
to design, implement, and execute a comprehensive load test strategy for an enterprise Tableau website. This engineer will be responsible for building a repeatable, scalable load testing framework using

, instrumenting metrics collection, and pushing test results and system telemetry into
Datadog
for downstream visualization by analytics teams.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience designing performance tests for web-based analytics platforms, understands the nuances of Tableau Server/Cloud workloads, and is comfortable building automation and metrics pipelines.
This is a remote full time 8 week contract role starting January, 2026
Responsibilities
Load & Performance Testing Design
- Develop an end-to-end

for a Tableau website, including planned user concurrency, test scenarios, workload models, and success criteria. - Identify key Tableau workflows (e.g., dashboard loading, filtering, extracts, logins) to include in the performance test suite.
- Evaluate and document baseline performance indicators and expected thresholds.
LoadRunner Scripting & Execution
- Design and configure performance test scripts in
LoadRunner
, including scripting user flows, parameterization, correlation, and error handling. - Configure LoadRunner test scenarios to simulate realistic user behavior against Tableau.
- Execute load, stress, spike, and endurance test cycles.
Monitoring & Metrics Integration
- Configure LoadRunner to
emit metrics and results to Datadog
in real time or post-run. - Instrument application endpoints, infrastructure components, or relevant Tableau server metrics for comprehensive performance telemetry.
- Collaborate with Data/Analytics teams on defining schema, tags, or metadata needed for effective visualization.
Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze test results to identify performance bottlenecks, degradation patterns, and system constraints.
- Provide detailed reports and recommendations to engineering and infrastructure teams.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret system metrics and diagnose bottlenecks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience performance-testing
BI tools
or other complex analytic web apps. - Familiarity with
Tableau Server architecture
, extracts, VizQL engine, caching, backgrounder tasks, and workbook optimization. - Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation.
