• Conducts individualized patient and family need assessment regarding knowledge of breast-feeding
• Performs and documents targeted patient physical/emotional assessment and identifies deviations from norm
• Develops goals and objectives for individualized patient teaching and overall patient education program
• Provides direct patient instruction and clinical consultation services for the breast-feeding patients
• Uses input/evaluation from staff, patient, family, physicians, and community to continuously improve patient education processes
• Performs related duties as required.

Serves as a clinical expert and program coordinator for the Lactation Program. Responsible for direct patient/family teaching and for developing teaching skills of direct care staff so those patient/family goals can be met.

• Required:

• Education: Associate degree or professional training required

• Experience: No previous experience is required

• Licensure/Certification: IBCLC certification required.

• Preferred:

• Education: Bachelor's degree preferred

• Experience: 1 to 2 years is preferred
