We are hiring a dedicated Material Handler for our busy warehouse facility in New York City, New York. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse. Your primary duties will involve loading and unloading trucks, operating forklifts and other heavy equipment, and ensuring materials are properly stored and organized. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a physically demanding environment. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other transport vehicles.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and other materials throughout the warehouse.
- Stack and arrange materials in designated storage areas, ensuring proper organization and accessibility.
- Inspect equipment regularly and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation.
- Ensure all loading and unloading areas are kept clean and organized.
- Follow all safety regulations and guidelines, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Comply with company policies and procedures for material handling and logistics.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Valid forklift operator certification is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and repetitive physical tasks.
- Knowledge of material handling equipment and safety procedures.
- Good physical stamina and coordination.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Experience working within a logistics or supply chain environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
