Our Milwaukee, Wisconsin facility is looking for an experienced Forklift Operator to join our dedicated team. You will play a key role in managing the flow of goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our warehouse operations. The primary focus of this role is safe and productive material handling using powered industrial trucks. This position requires a strong understanding of logistics and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of workplace safety. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve inventory.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers, verifying shipments against documentation.
- Perform daily inspections of forklift equipment, reporting any mechanical issues immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring clear pathways and proper storage of goods.
- Accurately record inventory movements and update system data as required.
- Comply with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
- Support the logistics team in achieving operational goals and deadlines.
- Demonstrate a keen awareness of safety procedures for lifting and material handling.
- Be prepared for tasks that involve significant physical exertion and lifting.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts.
- Certification or license to operate forklifts is required.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Knowledge of safe material handling practices and logistics operations.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work flexible hours if needed and adhere to safety protocols.
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to wearing appropriate PPE and following all safety guidelines.
