As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including loading and unloading trucks, using pallet jacks and hand trucks, and operating material handling equipment. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to maintain inventory accuracy and ensure that products are stored correctly. Attention to detail and a commitment to following safety protocols are paramount in this position. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, capable of lifting up to 50 lbs regularly, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from storage areas using pallet jacks, hand trucks, or other equipment.
- Verify the count and condition of materials received.
- Operate material handling equipment as needed (e.g., forklifts, if certified).
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and PPE.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
- Report any damaged materials or equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, up to 50 lbs consistently.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
