Our Chicago, Illinois facility is seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our dedicated logistics team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the receiving process. Your responsibilities will include unloading goods, verifying quantities against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and accurately entering data into our system. This position is crucial for maintaining proper inventory levels and supporting the overall supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks efficiently and safely.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders, purchase agreements, or other documentation.
- Inspect all incoming products for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Accurately record received items into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Tag and label received items appropriately.
- Report any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate personnel immediately.
- Stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using computer systems, including data entry and WMS.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in verifying information.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Understanding of inventory control and logistics processes.
- Commitment to safety standards and proper use of PPE.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Punctuality and reliability.
