Job Description

The CAD Technician specializes in preparing AutoCAD Electrical schematics and Bills of Materials for mobile mining equipment. This position works within the Application Engineering group that develops continuous boring machines and conveyor solutions underground mining. The CAD Technician will be an essential part of building, improving and developing new solutions to Prairie Machine's extensive product line of mining equipment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Auto CAD Electrical Schematics and Bill of Materials
  • Maintaining drawings and BOM's in Autodesk Vault environment
  • Update AutoCAD Electrical drawings from redlines
  • Generating parts in Autodesk Vault and Epicore environment
  • Preparing change orders and updating schematics
  • Preparing non-conformances and change orders

Qualifications

  • Completion of a technical degree or equivalent experience working in AutoCAD Electrical
  • Minimum 5 years experience working in mining, manufacturing or mineral processing
  • CAD/CAM Technologist Diploma or minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Machinist

Additional Qualifications that would be considered an asset

  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault, Simco and/or Epicor ERP
  • Experience with CAD/CAM integration
