Description

We're looking for two motivated planners to join our Statutory Planning team, delivering practical, professional, and community-focused planning services. In these roles, you'll work on a varied caseload of planning applications, collaborate with a supportive team, and play a key role in shaping how our community develops.

In this role, you'll:
• Assess and process planning applications efficiently, ensuring decisions align with Council policies, planning scheme provisions, and relevant legislation
• Provide clear, practical, and timely advice to applicants, internal teams, stakeholders, and the wider community
• Review complex planning matters, identify key issues, and develop balanced recommendations
• Prepare high-quality written correspondence, reports, and recommendations on a wide range of planning applications
• Represent Council at VCAT and other forums when required, presenting cases confidently and professionally
• Contribute to improvements in systems, processes, and team ways of working to support consistent and efficient outcomes

• Permanent full-time roles with a competitive salary of $83,480 – $95,636 plus 12% super and a monthly ADO

Skills And Experiences

To thrive in these roles, candidates will bring:
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to collaborate across teams, influence outcomes, and manage multiple competing priorities effectively
• Sound knowledge of the Victorian Planning Policy Framework and a clear understanding of current planning issues affecting local communities
• Experience engaging with a variety of stakeholders, including applicants, internal teams, and the wider community, to achieve positive planning outcomes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality reports and provide clear, professional advice to both internal and external audiences
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, with the ability to use digital tools to support efficient planning processes
• A tertiary qualification in Town Planning (or equivalent) with relevant planning experience, or a related qualification with planning experience, eligibility for PIA membership, and a current driver's licence
