Kaart is seeking a highly collaborative and skilled software engineer to support specialized projects in Redmond, WA. This role is focused on the frontier of spatial computing, building backend computer vision software, 3D reconstruction pipelines, and machine learning datasets that power next-generation AR/VR technology.

The successful Software Engineer will be responsible for developing robust backend architecture and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to turn complex requirements into functional, scalable solutions for production environments. The successful Engineer will be required to see a project from conception to final product, requiring excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail. As a member of the development team, you will build technology solutions that contribute to world-class GIS and vision enabled solutions for users globally.

Location: Redmond, WA (Office based)

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Impeccable analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Extensive math skills and understanding of analytics
  • Familiarity with data structures and algorithms, modeling, and statistical probability
  • In-depth understanding of machine learning frameworks
  • Spearheading the development of intuitive experiences.
  • Architecting resilient infrastructure; training, retraining, and monitoring systems and models as needed.
  • Solve complex problems with multilayered data sets.
  • Conceptualizing and implementing optimized data pipelines to feed models.
  • Crafting scalable databases, machine learning libraries, and frameworks.
  • Ensuring seamless cross-platform optimization for a variety of devices.
  • Guaranteeing the responsiveness and performance of applications.
  • Overseeing projects from inception through to production deployment.
  • Planning, tracking, scheduling, and providing on-time and standard deliverables
  • Designing and implementing robust APIs, algorithms, computer vision, deep learning applications and 3D reconstruction pipelines..
  • Balancing technical prowess with user-centric design considerations.
  • Keeping abreast of technologies, programming, and machine learning advancements (specifically with C++ and Python).

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Professional Experience: 3–5+ years of industrial software engineering experience.
  • Hardcore Coding Skills: Advanced proficiency in C++ and Python is required. Deep understanding of math, probability, statistics, and algorithms.
  • Core Skills: Exceptional verbal communication abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Ownership: Ability to manage projects with high autonomy and attention to detail.
  • Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with a diverse team and perform peer reviews of other developers' code.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills

  • Experience in GIS, Computer Vision (CV), or Machine Learning (ML).
  • Familiarity with 3D math, geometry processing, or SLAM.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or similar database technologies.
  • Familiarity with DigitalOcean or AWS.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Setting: Work is primarily completed in an office setting in Redmond, WA, with periods of long sitting.
  • Stationary Work: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Vision: Must be able to differentiate between colors.
  • Travel: Travel may be required outside of the office quarterly for team syncs, including overnight stays. Must be able to travel via automobile or airplane.
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $135, $175,000.00 per year
