We are looking for a Full-Time Social Worker/Activities or someone with a degree in a related field to listen and assist with the needs of our residents. Responsible for management of the Social Services Department/Activities in a manner which exemplifies AOM standard of operational excellence. You are entrusted with the responsibility of caring for our residents, families, co-workers, visitors, and all others. The primary purpose of your job position is to plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Social Service Department/Activities in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Executive Director, to ensure that the medically related emotional and social needs of the resident are met/maintained on an individial basis. You are entrusted to provide innovative, responsible healthcare with the creation and implementation of new ideas and concepts that continually improve systems and processes to achieve superior results.
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Activites Director who can oversee the day-to-day activities of our nursing home facility.
Job Responsibilities
- Directs other activity personnel in implementing activity programs and services at the facility. Assists in training, teaching and directing od volunteers and students.
- Provides all department heads with a schedule of planned activity programs and posts calendars in a conspicuous locations easily accessible and legible to the residents and staff.
- Maintains a system of records including resident information, progress notes, attendance logs, discharge summaries, Resident Council Meeting minutes and activity assistant assessments/plans for each resident on a daily basis.
- Provides personal services for residents such as writing letters, mailing packages and transporting to community events when transportation is available.
- Attends resident care conferences to identify problems and obtain goals and approaches to be implemented in the care plan.
- Assist activity director with the season décor of the facility.
- Performs light housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning up after parties and programs, when necessary. Keeps office area clean as well as desk and surrounding areas.
- Other duties as assigned by the activities director.
Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Possesses a valid drivers' license
- Flexible to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends and/or holidays
- Possesses recreational generalist background or a minimum of two (2) years full-time or equivalent part-time paid work experience in a healthcare setting.
