Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Bilingual Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensure infection control, and support patient care in a fast-paced dental clinic environment. Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential to effectively communicate with our diverse patient base. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a comprehensive general dentistry practice, including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics, utilizing Dentrix. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical documentation, and infection control protocols.
Duties
- Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies using aseptic techniques
- Take and develop X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
- Record vital signs and medical history accurately within Dentrix.
- Manage patient records and ensure proper documentation of procedures and medical coding
- Provide chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and comfort
- Educate patients on post-treatment care and dental terminology in both English and Spanish
- Maintain infection control standards by sterilizing instruments and ensuring a clean clinical environment
- Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist when needed
- Assist with medical imaging procedures and monitor patient vital signs during visits
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of general dentistry procedures
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required for effective communication with patients
- Familiarity Dentrix platform.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately; certification preferred
- Understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding practices
- Experience with pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and 3D scanner technology is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in medical documentation and records management
- Excellent interpersonal skills to provide compassionate patient care in a busy clinical setting
