Job Overview
As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of support. You will provide compassionate care and assistance with daily living activities, ensuring that each resident feels valued and respected. Your dedication will empower individuals to maintain their independence while receiving the necessary support in their homes or community settings.

What you'll do

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient conditions to ensure optimal care.
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals while accommodating dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being.
  • Administer medications as prescribed, following care plans meticulously to ensure safety.
  • Maintain cleanliness in client living areas to create a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Support clients with mobility needs, including the use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement individualized care plans effectively.

Experience

  • Previous experience in home health, assisted living, or long-term care settings is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with patient observation techniques and vital sign monitoring is essential.
  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is preferred to ensure immediate response capabilities.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, or autism is a plus.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required by client needs while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality at all times is crucial.
  • A background in social work or direct support roles will enhance your effectiveness in this position.
