Job purpose

The Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of credentialing and re-credentialing of Next Gen Neuro health care professionals. This position ensures all health care professionals (providers and technologists) are appropriately credentialed, which includes the responsibility of maintaining current information on file and obtaining new information as required from facility partners. This position primarily works independently, but frequently coordinates with other team members, such as Human Resources and Clinical Leadership.

Duties and responsibilities

Credentialing:

  • Is responsible for oversight and completion of new hire and ongoing internal staff and contracted physician credentialing, collaborating with our facility partners.
  • Is responsible for oversight and completion of new hire and ongoing external clinical credentialing for all Remote LTM/EEG Analysts, Neurodiagnostic Assistants, Virtual Clinical Administrative Assistants, and Reading Physicians.
  • Maintains active status for all employee and independent contractor credentialing files to ensure all are always up to date.
  • Is responsible for monitoring and managing credentialing/re-credentialing requirements and to ensure the collection of all required renewal certifications are on file within the required time frame.
  • Provides consistent and timely follow-up on all outstanding credentialing/re-credentialing files.
  • Processes all requests for Reading Physician initial and re-credentialing applications for our hospitals locations.
  • Assists physicians with Physician licensure applications.
  • Assists customers with credentialing inquiries.
  • Identifies discrepancies in information and conducts follow-ups.
  • Follows all compliance laws, regulations, and procedures related to credentialing best practices.
  • Conducts best practices research as related to credentialing compliance and brings this forward to Leadership.

Human Resources:

  • Assists with new hire interviews and competency exams as directed by Leadership.
  • Assists other business units with project management (clinical ops, IT, finance, etc.)
  • Supports Human Resources in other day-to-day HR tasks as needed and as assigned by the COO.
  • Assists the leadership team with Joint Commission tasks.
  • Assists Human Resources with termination of credentials.

Working Conditions

This is a remote, work from home position. Our business operations are 24/7.

  • Monday-Friday 9-5:30p ET are the standard work hours. These may flex depending on current projects and customer go-live needs. Since this is part-time, will discuss schedule options during interview process.
  • Must have cell phone and ringer turned on during work hours: 8am-6p ET on the days you are working.

Qualifications and Requirements

Associates Degree is preferred. If no formal degree, must have completed High School level education and have at least 3 years of experience in health care provider credentialing. Must have CPCS credential within 2 years of hire.

  • Has strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Is proficient in writing company-wide documentation.
  • Has strong strategic, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates advanced literacy in Microsoft products (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
  • Has knowledge of Joint Commission standards.
  • Has experience with credentialing document management systems and can provide recommendations of industry best credentialing software.
  • Is experienced in managing multiple processes and projects simultaneously.
  • Is skilled in creation and maintenance of successful client relationships.
  • Has experience with Adobe applications (e.g., PDF Pro).
  • Has advanced experience with DocuSign.
  • Is self-motivated and customer focused.
  • Responds well under pressure and tight timelines.
  • Proactively takes the initiative to drive forward and complete activities within realm of assigned responsibility.
  • Work independently, prioritize work activities and use time efficiently.
  • Ability to follow instructions and respond to Managements' directions accurately.
  • Has strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Has effective presentation abilities.
  • Must possess ability to manage change, delays, or unexpected events appropriately.
