Equipment Operator

This position will operate various types of heavy equipment such as material handlers, mobile shears, skid steers and LP forklifts. This is a hybrid position; you would also be working with the HRB baler and processing/sorting different grades of metal as needed.

Responsibilities:

· Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant industry standards, policies, and site procedures

· Perform daily safety and maintenance checks

· Sort and process metals.

· Adheres to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety procedures.

· Performs all other duties as assigned.

Experience/Skills:

· At least 1 year of heavy equipment operation experience with specific experience operating material handlers, forklifts, skid steers, etc.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

· Basic computer skills.

· Metals recycling knowledge is a bonus.

Physical Requirements:

· The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, steel toe boots, and other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done.

· Walking, stepping, climbing or otherwise moving from one location on the job site to another, and normally involves physically getting into and out of equipment.

· Visually seeing equipment operations well (either naturally or with corrective lenses)

· Ability to lift 50 lbs.
