Job Title: Heavy Press Operator- 3rd Shift
As a Heavy Press Operator in the Production department, your goal is to setup and operate heavy tonnage presses, typically blanking cold or hot forming, cutoff or piercing operations, as well as operating presses specified by work order, blueprint, drawing, template or layout. You will also perform additional secondary operations such as manual milling, annealing, fusing, shot blast, grit blast, and packaging.
You will do this by:
- Setting up presses
- Installing specified dies in presses using gauges and hand tools
- Aligning dies in presses according to specifications using feelers, shims, templates, bolts, clamps and wrenches
- Assisting the in tool room with the inspection of die (when required) upon completion of job
- Inserting blanks manually into press and performing either hot or cold form operations
- Accounting for steel usage (as required) and accurately recording piecework formed
- Performing manual mill operations, ensuring beveled edge meets with customer specifications
- Adjusting temperatures on Fuse/Anneal ovens and operating to check sheet requirements
- Operating shot and grit blast machines, knowing which medium is used for each operation
- Understanding what parts need to be oiled and proper finish prior to leaving cell
- Checking quality of product machined and notify supervisor of process issues
- Packaging customers' parts
- Maintaining safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Performing operator maintenance and/or 5S housekeeping per established schedules

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 years experience with press set-up, operation, and manufacturing experience
- Basic math skills to analyze information and measuring equipment
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to read blue prints, engineer drawings, or customer drawings
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience with press set-up, operation in a manufacturing environment
Physical | Visual Demands:
- Ability to stand 8 or more hours a day
- Ability to sit, stand, squat, bend
- Ability to reach overhead with one or both arms
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to occasionally push/pull up to 75 pounds
- Close, Distant and Peripheral vision
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing: Loud (Examples: metal can, manufacturing department, large earth moving equipment)

Shift Hours: Sunday- Thursday 10pm-6am with overtime on Fridays
