Lead Carpenter

KMC Construction Ltd. is seeking an experienced, self-motivated Carpenter to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in high-quality workmanship, can work independently, and can confidently handle a wide range of construction and finishing tasks.

About the Role

The Carpenter will work on a variety of commercial and light industrial projects, including interior office renovations, additions, framing, finishing, and minor restoration tasks. The successful candidate will be expected to self-manage daily tasks, work efficiently, and complete projects within assigned timelines while reporting to the Company Superintendent.

Key Responsibilities

• Install interior doors, frames, trim, casing, and finishing components
• Build office additions and interior partitions
• Cut openings and install windows
• Perform drywall installation, taping, mudding, and sanding
• Complete minor painting and touch-ups as required
• Carry out general construction and carpentry duties across diverse job sites
• Ensure safe work practices and maintain job-site cleanliness
• Communicate progress and daily updates to the Superintendent
• Work independently with minimal supervision while delivering high-quality results

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of carpentry or construction experience
• Strong finishing carpentry skills required
• Own truck and full set of professional carpentry tools
• Ability to read drawings, plan work, and meet deadlines
• Experience working independently on small projects
• Restoration or remediation construction experience is an asset but not mandatory
• Valid driver's licence required

Compensation & Benefits

• $28–$35 per hour, based on experience and skill level
