JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to operate and maintain our Haas UMC Axis vertical machining center. This role requires advanced machining knowledge and experience with multi-axis milling to produce complex components. The ideal candidate will be confident in setup, operation, and in-process inspection of 5-axis parts in a high-mix, low-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate the Haas UMC axis machining center to produce high-precision parts per engineering specifications and blueprints.
• Load programs and make necessary adjustments, including tool offsets and minor G-code edits.
• Perform complex setups involving multiple work offsets, rotary positioning, and custom fixtures.
• Interpret and work from CAD drawings, 3D models, and GD&T tolerances.
• Inspect in-process parts using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, CMM if applicable).
• Maintain machine cleanliness, tooling inventory, and daily maintenance schedules.
• Troubleshoot issues related to machining, tooling, and setup to ensure consistent production quality.
• Collaborate with engineers and team members on process improvements and production efficiency.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience operating CNC mills; 5-axis machining experience required.
• Proficiency with Haas controls and familiarity with multi-axis toolpaths.
• Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, and tooling for 5-axis machining.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or training preferred.

Work Environment:

• Machine shop environment with routine exposure to machining noise and materials.
• May require standing for long periods and lifting parts or tools up to 30 lbs.

Work Schedule & Pay:

• Shift: First Shift, Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM or 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Breaks: Includes one 10-minute paid break and one 15-minute paid lunch per shift.
• Pay Range: Up to $35 per hour, depending on experience.
