Join Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) as a Survey Crew Chief, and become a vital part of our dynamic team In this highly technical role, you'll blend career experience with collaborative teamwork and innovative solutions. You will lead and direct field efforts for critical infrastructure, commercial and industrial projects, to support our regional practices.

You will be working directly with professional surveyors to collaborate for best practices, and make judgement calls to accomplish a multitude of project types. This candidate is expected to have a strong background in Property Boundary Surveys, ALTA/NSPS Surveys, Construction Staking, Bolt-Pattern Surveys, Sewer and Utility As-Builts and Topographic Surveys.

We use Trimble total stations and collectors with Access in the field, familiarity is a plus. We use UAVs to accomplish orthometric surveys and work with point cloud data for various reasons, familiarity is a plus. Experience working with geodetic networks, GNSS receivers and data is a plus.

Safety as a priority will be required, and OSHA 10 is a plus, but can be provided upon hire.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4+ years of Crew Chief experience.

  • Skilled in use of various electronic survey data collection types, preferably Trimble products.

  • Work requires independent judgement and initiative, well spoken and ability to speak directly to clients or contractors.

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of survey best practices for different conditions.

  • Knowledge of Civil Engineering principles and practices, experienced with survey as a supporting practice.

  • A general understanding of construction specification, requirements, plans and regulations.

  • A current driver's license.

  • Availability to travel within a 3 state region for multiple day out-of-town projects.

  • Attention to detail in Topographic and Boundary surveying.

  • Ability to work outdoors in various conditions.

  • Physically able to carry equipment over difficult terrain for extended periods of time.

  • A desire to learn, ability to strive for best results, and dedication to a career in surveying.

Pay: $ $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
