About The Role

AirDNA is seeking a skilled Frontend Tech Lead to shape the future of its product experience and technical strategy. This leadership role involves driving the development of scalable, performant, and user-centric customer-facing applications. While the position encompasses full-stack responsibilities, the primary focus is on leading the frontend guild, championing modern React and TypeScript architecture, and enhancing the design system and developer experience. The Tech Lead will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including Product, Design, and Backend Engineering—to deliver innovative features that meet customer needs and align with business goals. Responsibilities include defining best practices, mentoring engineers, facilitating knowledge sharing, and influencing technical decisions across squads. The role offers an opportunity to influence the technical direction of a high-impact product, contribute to a collaborative team environment, and help foster a culture of engineering excellence. The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership, technical expertise, and a passion for building intuitive, high-quality software solutions that empower users and support the company's growth objectives.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • At least 5 years of recent experience working with React and TypeScript.
  • Strong expertise in scaling and optimizing large-scale single-page applications (SPAs).
  • Deep understanding of frontend performance, accessibility, and design fidelity.
  • Experience with full-stack development, including backend systems such as Python, Django, FastAPI, AWS, and related technologies.
  • Proven experience leading technical discussions, influencing architecture, and setting engineering standards.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Excellent collaboration skills in cross-functional teams, translating business goals into technical strategies.
  • Knowledge of modern frontend tools, component libraries, and state management solutions.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud services.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead frontend technical strategy, including best practices, architecture, and performance optimizations.
  • Develop and implement customer-facing features using React, TypeScript, , and related libraries.
  • Facilitate discussions within the frontend guild, ensuring consistency, knowledge sharing, and adoption of standards.
  • Mentor and grow engineering talent by reviewing code, providing feedback, and guiding career development.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Data Scientists, and Backend Engineers to deliver seamless user experiences.
  • Contribute to backend development when necessary to deliver comprehensive solutions.
  • Influence tooling, testing, CI/CD, and monitoring strategies to improve developer velocity and application reliability.
  • Represent engineering in planning, roadmap discussions, and cross-team initiatives to align technical vision with business objectives.
